His work reflects a deep commitment to leveraging media, technology, and strategic partnerships to foster educational equity and social justice. In 2024, David co-founded Lionstone Consulting Group, where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. The firm specializes in strategic partnerships, funding strategies, and community engagement to develop, manage, and scale clients’ initiatives.
Prior to launching Lionstone, David spent 13 years at PBS KIDS, where he served as Senior Director for Ready To Learn and Grants Strategy. In this role, he created and managed initiatives with cross-sector partners that developed and delivered engaging, research-based content and engagement experiences.
As State Director for Globaloria West Virginia at the World Wide Workshop Foundation, David expanded hands-on digital learning programs across the state that introduced middle school, high school, and college students to game design and coding, equipping them with critical 21st-century skills.
David’s expertise in digital media and education innovation was further honed as a National Urban Fellow at Sesame Workshop’s Joan Ganz Cooney Center, where he explored how digital play can drive early learning outcomes, particularly for children from underserved communities.
David has also played a pivotal role in civil rights and social justice advocacy. David served as Managing Director of the Minority Media and Telecom Council, advocating for diversity in media ownership and programming to create a more inclusive media landscape. At the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, he served as Director of Programs, leveraging the cultural influence of hip-hop to promote social change and empower youth. David also spent five years at the National Urban League where he focused on bridging the digital divide, education, and workforce development, ensuring that marginalized communities had equitable access to emerging technologies and economic opportunities.
His expertise in policy was shaped through his work with the Civil Rights Forum on Communications Policy, where he contributed to research and advocacy on media access and representation in a democratic society.
David’s career in public service began with a Congressional Internship for U.S. Congressman Major Owens, where he worked at the Congressman’s district office in Brooklyn, gaining firsthand experience in legislative processes, policy development, and constituent engagement—an experience that sparked his lifelong passion for civil rights and communications policy.
Beyond his professional roles, David remains committed to social impact and thought leadership. He is an active member of The Impact Guild’s Social Impact Professional Peer Group, a network of over 700 senior leaders, executives, and advocates worldwide, working together to drive meaningful social change through media, philanthropy, and innovation. David is also involved in supporting the upward economic mobility of families living in poverty through global two-generation approaches, including the
development of a two-generation approach in Jamaica in collaboration with the University of the West Indies, United Way of Jamaica, and Northwestern University’s 2Gen Research Initiative.
Throughout his career, David has exemplified a unique ability to bridge sectors, drive strategic collaborations, and create transformative solutions. As he continues to lead Lionstone Consulting Group, he remains focused on empowering communities, expanding access to education, and ensuring that media and technology serve as catalysts for a more just and inclusive society.
